Understand the candle structure
Each candlestick represents open, high, low, and close data for a chosen timeframe. The body shows the distance between open and close, while the wick shows how far price moved beyond the body during that period.
Once traders understand this structure, they can quickly see whether a market closed with strength, hesitation, or rejection.
Context matters more than one candle
A single candle can be informative, but its real meaning depends on where it forms. The same candle can mean continuation in one location and exhaustion in another.
This is why many traders combine candle reading with support and resistance, trend direction, and session timing.
